Stockton becomes just second player in JU history to be named to senior All-Star game  JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Midfielder Bobby Stockton earned a coveted roster spot to participate in the 2011 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association North-South All-Star Game. Stockton was one of just 36 selections for the South squad that will face its northern counterparts in an exhibition at Goucher College in Baltimore on Friday. The all-star teams are comprised of the some of the best seniors in all of Divisions I and II nationally. Stockton became the second JU player in history to make the squad after goalie Brad Hester was selected in 2010.   In his only season at JU, Stockton made an immediate impact by posting 20 goals and two assists despite starting only five of 15 games. The Ponte Vedra, Fla. native was named to the all-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference second-team after a breakout season, finishing just one goal behind TJ Kenary for the team lead en route to recording a JU-high 86 shots.    “This is a great honor for Bobby,” Dolphins head coach Matt Kerwick said. “Outside of being named to the all-America team, this is one of the biggest individual honors a student-athlete can receive in collegiate lacrosse. “For a program only in its second year; to have two players chosen for the North-South game is a great achievement. I know Bobby will do a great job representing Jacksonville University.” Stockton was one of just 68 seniors (and the only Florida native) across the top-two collegiate divisions to be selected to play in the 69th North-South game. The all-star competition began in 1940 when Baltimore hosted the inaugural contest. The Division I-II South team will be coached by Terry Mangan, who is in his ninth season as the head coach of Lafayette. Mangan was the 2010 Patriot League Coach of the Year after guiding Lafayette to its first Patriot League tournament berth in school history. The North team will be led by Hobart head coach T.W. Johnson.
