JU Women: Jacksonville Faces Furman in Atlantic Sun Showdown

Milne Field at 11 a.m. The game can be seen live on ESPN3. “We are really exciting to be hosting Furman, in our fourth league game this season,” said Head Coach Mindy McCord. “We really respect the Atlantic Sun Conference and we are grateful to be competing in it. We are very excited that Furman has joined our conference this year and they are doing a great job. Tomorrow will be quite a battle. We’re looking to build on our success from Thursday against Detroit. Every game is about continuing to do our best and to play our game for 60 minutes.” Jacksonville is off to their best start yet, entering the game with an 11-2, 3-0 record. The Dolphins are fresh off an 18-7 victory over Detroit. Sally Holbert led the team with five goals, an assist, three groundballs and a draw control.Brittney Orashen and Holly Ventimiglia meanwhile secured each of their 100th career goals during the game. Orashen also grabbed four goals, in addition to six ground balls and three draw controls. Ventimiglia notched her fifth hat trick of the season. Furman, who is in its inaugural season, enters the game with an 8-3, 3-0 record. The Paladins garnered a 12-11 victory over Stetson on Thursday afternoon. Britt Douglas led the team with her eighth hat trick of the season. Goalie Maggie Friel recorded seven saves, including two in the final 23 seconds. The Dolphins close their home schedule with Senior Day on Saturday, April 11 at 1p.m., as they take on Mercer at D.B.
