Hill Sports Complex. “Throughout the season, we have been developing a lot of depth in the team,” said Head Coach Mindy McCord. “We’ve had some injuries and have had to move some people around. Fortunately, we have a lot of solid young players who have answered our call for people to step up. Now with two seniors returning to the lineup we have a luxury we didn’t have in the past two weeks.” Last week, the Dolphins went 2-0 defeating Marist (11-9) and Presbyterian (22-7) improving their record to 8-2. Danielle Della Rocca led the team with nine goals, four assists, three groundballs and a caused turnover. Della Rocca’s performance landed her the A-Sun’s Player of the Week accolade for the second time this season. Old Dominion enters their inaugural A-Sun opener, with a 7-3 overall record. In their last outing, the Monarchs defeated American 7-6. Jessica Liberty led the team with four goals including the game-winning goal with 1:50 left on the clock. Morgan Gallagher helped the team with four groundballs and three caused turnovers. Her performance landed her the A-Sun’s Defensive Player of the Week award. “Old Dominion is a team we are very familiar with,” said coach McCord. “They have strong players all throughout their team. They are tough at home which makes them even more of a challenge.” Jacksonville is 2-0 over ODU, winning both games at home over the last two seasons. The Dolphins face Atlantic Sun opponent Howard in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, March 29.   ###   Bridgette Gale Athletic Media Relations Assistant Jacksonville University (o):(904)-256-7761 (c): (904)-599-0801
