Jupiter Defeats Gardens 12-4 Monday Night

Craig Coughlin and Matt Vadala teamed up for the Warriors, followed by Daniel Soviero’s unassisted goal. The first quarter ended with another goal by Ben Yetman, assisted by Matt Vadala, for a 4-0 Jupiter lead. Matt Vadala opened the second quarter with an assist from Ben Yetman. Ben White of Jupiter then scored an unassisted goal to bring the score to 6-0. Gardens answered with a goal by David Straley, assisted by Ike Hernandez, followed by a goal by Bobbie Gaines, unassisted. At halftime the score was Jupiter 6, Gardens 2. Gardens opened the scoring in the second half, with a goal by Steven Smith assisted by Bobby DSC_0899_optGaines. Jupiter answered with another goal by Daniel Soviero. Steven Smith of Gardens scored the next goal, closing the gap to 7-4. Davis Yates of Jupiter scored the next two goals, the first unassisted and the second with an assist from Ben Yetman. After three quarters, the score was 9-4. The fourth quarter was all Jupiter on offense, with goals by Daniel Soviero assisted by Craig Coughlin, Ben Yetman assisted by James Holdt and then Matt Vadala assisted by Peter Cox. The final score was 12-4. On faceoffs, Brando Scheele of Jupiter won 8 of 11 and Jake Lolmaugh won 4 of 5. Gardens goalie Armande Cocuzza had a strong performance, with 13 saves and 6 ground balls. Gardens plays at Southfork on Wednesday and Jupiter plays St Andrews Thursday at home.
