Jupiter Starts Spring Break With Win Over Tampa Jesuit

Daniel Soviero (St Johns) of Jupiter opened the scoring with an assist from James Holdt, followed by two unassisted goals by James Holdt. Jupiter’s next was scored by Zach Crotty, with an assist by defenseman Braylon Sampson (Bryant). Tampa Jesuit answered with an unassisted goal by Ryan Brady. Jupiter scored the next four goals: Davis Yates assisted by Jesse Foertmeyer; James Holdt unassisted; Lars Coughlin unassisted and then Craig Coughlin assisted by Peter Cox (Army). The first quarter ended with Jupiter leading 8-1. Jesse Foertmeyer scored next for the Warriors with an assist by Zach Crotty, followed by Peter Cox assisted by Jesse Foertmeyer. Stefano Mastro of Tampa Jesuit put the ball in the net with an unassisted goal. Jake Steiger of Jupiter closed the half with a goal from a feed by Craig Coughlin, with Jupiter ahead 11-2. The third quarter was all Jupiter, opened by defenseman Connor Alexander (Duke) and followed by Jake Steiger’s second goal assisted by Davis Yates. Lars Coughlin had his second goal of the game, unassisted, followed by an unassisted goal by Kevin Fallon. The final goal of the quarter came from Daniel Soviero (St. Johns), assisted by Jesse Foertmeyer. Jupiter led 16-2 at the end of three quarters. Riley Cobo of Jupiter had an unassisted goal to open the fourth quarter, followed by Matt Vadala’s goal assisted by Alex Ehrich. Tampa Jesuit’s Anthony Scarpino closed the game with an unassisted goal. The final score was 18-3. Brandon Scheele was 8 of 11 and Jake Lolmaugh was 4 of 4 on faceoffs for Jupiter. Shane Bogue of Jupiter had 8 ground balls and 1 takeaway and Austin Starts had 3 ground balls. Tampa Jesuit’s Goalie Cole Fox (Swarthmore) had 11 saves.
