Jupiter Wins Close Game in Boca 7-6

Boca vs Jupiter 2In a game that certainly should have been included in the round up of great Friday night games here in this website, The Warriors edged the Bobcats in Boca Raton. Both defenses played very well, making it difficult for the offenses to score. Jupiter’s James Holdt scored the first goal, unassisted, followed by three Boca goals. The first was a goal by Connor Collins assisted by Nick Schultz, followed by an unassisted goal by Ryan Clinton. Nick Schulz then scored for Boca assisted by Christian Mauro. At the end of the first quarter, Boca led 3-1. Scoring in the second quarter was all Jupiter. Zach Crotty opened with an unassisted goal, followed by a goal by Ben Yetman assisted by Jesse Foertmeyer. The final goal of the quarter was scored by Zach Crotty, with an assist by Peter Cox. Jupiter led 4-3 at halftime. Peter Cox scored the first goal of the second half with an assist by Zach Crotty. Nick McCabe of Boca then scored an unassisted goal, followed by an unassisted goal by Nick Schultz to tie the score at 5 apiece. The Boca Jupiter 3Coughlin brothers of Jupiter, Craig and Lars, scored the next two goals, each unassisted, leaving the score at 7-5 at the end of the quarter. The fourth quarter was almost all defense, with the sole goal being scored by Nick Schultz for a hat trick on the evening. The final score was 7-6 Jupiter. On defense, Goalie Nick Martin for Boca had 13 saves and Harrison Rodormer led the Bobcats with 3 ground balls and 1 takeaway. The rest of the defense worked well together, keeping the Warriors out of the goal in concert with Martin. The Warriors defense played tough, with everyone sharing the workload to try and slow a very fast Boca offense. Brandon Scheele of Jupiter had a great night facing off, winning 9 of 12 attempts. Jupiter faces the Gators in Palm Beach Gardens on Monday and Boca travels to play Spanish River next Wednesday.
