Jupiter Wins First Road Game Against Wellington

its first away game of the season. Both offenses took a while to get moving, with the first score mid way through the first quarter – an unassisted goal by Wellington’s Michael Costello. Peter Cox answered for Jupiter with an assist by Zach Crotty, followed by an unassisted goal by Tommy Pinkham. Offensively, the second quarter was all Jupiter, starting with Michael Dean assisted by Sean Denes, followed by Zach Crotty unassisted, Jake Steiger assisted by Lars Coughlin and then Viper Scheele playing defense, unassisted off of his interception of a Wellingon clear. At halftime, Jupiter was ahead 6 to 1. Wellington’s Patrick Oporto opened the third quarter with a goal assisted by Chris Englert. Jupiter’s Zach Crotty answered with an assist by Alex Derrico. Patrick Oporto scored his second goal for Wellington and then Jupiter answered with goals by Sean Denes and Michael Dean, both assisted by Zach Crotty. The only goal of the fourth quarter was by Wellington’s Ryan Blum, for a final score of 9 to 4 in favor of the visiting Warriors. On the defensive side, Tyler Kendrigan in goal for Jupiter had 5 saves. Jake Lolmaugh led Jupiter in ground balls, with Connor Alexander, Braylen Sampson, John Flanary, Connor Wallace, Viper Scheele and Peyton Bussey providing the long pole support. For Wellington, Logan Masta had 14 saves and defensemen Chad Moye (4 forced turnovers), Chris Englert (2 forced turnovers, 1 assist), Bryce Dalton and Michael Goldman played well throughout the game. Jupiter plays Boca Raton at home on Thursday and Wellington makes the long drive to face Palm Beach Central, also on Thursday.
