Lake Brantley (11 -1) faced the Oviedo Lions (7 – 3) on Brantley’s Tom Storey Field. It was clearly lacrosse weather tonight with a light wind a crisp temperatures. Brantley stayed focused and kept their game plan working. In the first quarter Jared Bernhardt (Maryland) and Austin Guerrina went to work scoring two goals apiece with Peter Yip and defensemen Hiram Carter putting single goals in the net and scores on the board. The second quarter the Brantley offense rolled and put five more goals in net while holding the Oviedo Lions to no offensive action. Any offense Oviedo rallied was quickly halted by defense from every member of Brantley’s team. The half ended with the score of 11-2 Brantley. The third quarter saw an opportunity for Oviedo to bring some heat when they were man up at the end of the quarter. The penalty rolled over into the fourth quarter with the opportunity passing and no goal scored. The fourth quarter was controlled by Brantley with scoring continuing by Bernhardt and Guerrina. The game ended with the final score of 16 – 3 Brantley. The Brantley vs Oviedo game has always been a special game because so many of the players played together over the summers on travel teams together. Those friendships between the players and families are what elevates lacrosse above other sports.  Lake Brantley faces Lake Highland Prep on Friday night the 28th on Brantley’s home field. **Image Notes** # 7 Jared Bernhardt Shoots # 6 Peter Yip # 4 Jon McKenna (Hendrix College Warrior Commit)
