February 17th – Lake Highland hosted the Oviedo Lions to open up their 2014 lacrosse season.  The Highlanders controlled the pace of play for most of the game, winning 26 of 32 face-offs.  Both goalies were tested by strong shooting on both sides.  Oviedo playing solid defense had a fast offensive surge late in the 2^nd quarter to score four goals in a four minute period to finish the half down 11 to 6.  Lake Highland slowly started to pull away mid way  thru the 3^rd quarter, scoring 5 goals in a four minute period to go up 16 to 7. Senior Will Wolfson (5 goals on the night), Junior Reid Thedford (5 goals for the game) and Sophomore Jackson Colling (4 goals and 1 assist) led the Highlanders in scoring.  Logan Smith led the Lions with three goals and three assists.  LHP next plays Benjamin at 5:00 PM on Saturday in South Florida.
