of the FHSAA 2014 Tournament Championship series had Lake Brantley marked as the underdog. Lake Brantley has a solid offensive attack and a stiff defense but had traveled a rocky road this season with injuries and eligibility issues. Lake Highland Prep’s program is a well-oiled and highly tuned machine. They too have excellent attack, midfield and defensive corps, all with great depth. Lake Highland Prep started the game strong and never looked back. In the first half of the game the Highlanders were able to pick apart the Patriot’s defense with excellent ball movement and getting attackmen into positions that allowed quick passes and scores. Highland’s attack combination of Kyle Richbourg, Conner Aniello and Jackson Colling was polished. Lake Highland was able to move several combinations of attack and midfielders into play without missing a beat. Lake Brantley’s Hiram Carter, pulling triple, duty did take a face off to the goal in the first quarter and score. Brantley was able to score two more goals later in the game but this was not even close to stop the Highland machine. The final score 17-3 Lake Highland Prep. Lake Highland Prep will advance into the third round play-in on Tuesday night the 29th against Dr. Phillips.
