Lake Highland Opens Up with 19-2 Win At American Heritage/Boca

American Heritage coached by veteran Jeff Goldberg graciously hosted Lake Highland for the Highlanders season opener Tuesday night in Delray. American Heritage team consisted of strong and physical players and the game started with quick goals by both teams in the first minute of play. Both teams showed equal balance on the offensive and defensive sides of the game. Lake Highland had 2 goals each from Jackson Colling and Tiger Graham in the 1st quarter with the score 7-1 at the end of the quarter. American Heritage goalie Justin Lugo had 4 nice saves in the first half but 3 goals by Connor Aniello in the 2nd quarter extended the lead to 14-1 at halftime. Each team continued to play aggressively thru the second half of the game. Griff Caligiuri had several takeaways and 7 ground balls to lead the LHP defense. Patrick Boylston had 1 goal early, Roberto Villasana also had one goal with a low to high outside shot. Final score was Lake Highland 19 American Heritage 2. lake Highland travels to South Florida this Friday to play St. Thomas Aquinas at 6:00 PM.
