Mar. 10th – Lake Highland (7-0; 1-0 District 11) rode a wave of break-out offensive performances by Attackmen Billy Roll (5G, 4A) and Austin Tamayo (1G, 6A) to down the Wildcats of Winter Park 16-8 this afternoon in front of a large crowd at Bishop Moore HS.  The Highlanders also had outstanding defensive support in front of goalie Alex Acuna and took advantage of numerous untimely Winter Park penalties.  LHP dominated the early going and if not for the great play of Wildcats Goalie Reid Den Beste, the Highlanders would have jumped to a larger lead than 3-1 after the first 8:30.  The first half was highlighted by the play of the Highlanders Billy Roll (3G, 3A in the first half) and Wildcat Attackman Matt Krecicki, who scored all four of Winter Park’s first half goals.  Lake Highland led 7-4 at the half.  A halftime adjustment by the Highlanders put Junior Defenseman Casey Irish on Krecicki who was held scoreless in the second half.  The LHP team defense was also

effective in holding Winter Park Senior Captain Sergio Salcido to two goals for the game.  On the offensive end, the Highlanders opened a 12-6 lead as Junior Attackman Clay Phillips recorded a natural hat trick to start the fourth quarter.  Midfielders Devon Lewis (2G, 2A), Malcolm Clayton (2G) and Davis Anderson (1G, 1A) also had big games with Clayton and Anderson dominant at the face-off X.  Of particular note was the Highlanders team oriented offense as 13 of the total 16 goals were assisted.  The Highlanders next travel to The First Academy for a District 11 game on Tuesday, March 13th at 7:30p.
