Lake Highland Wins State Title Rematch-16-9 Over Benjamin

The game started with Lake Highland showing offensive strength from both senior Reid Thedford and junior Jackson Colling as they each scored 2 goals in the 1st quarter. Solid defensive support enabled the Highlanders to take a lead of 5-0 at the end of the 1stquarter.
Two more goals in the 2nd quarter by both Thedford and Colling increased the lead to 7-1 at Half.
The second half started just like the first quarter did with 5 different Lake Highland offensive players scoring and excellent defensive play from senior Griff Caligiuri with 7 ground balls and 2 takeaways extended the lead to 13-1 at the end of the third quarter.
At the start of the 4th quarter LHP substituted the majority of the other players into the game. Benjamin showed resilience and continued to play hard and had a series of offensive goals with 3 goals in less than 2 minutes and another flurry of 5 goals in 4 minutes to score a total of 8 in the 4th quarter.
Both teams had 3 penalties and face offs were almost equal with Benjamin winning 15 and Lake Highland winning 13. The final score was Lake Highland 16 Benjamin 9. Junior Jackson Colling finished the game with 5 goals, Senior Reid Thedford at 3 goals and 1 assists. Senior Kyle Richbourg had 2 goals and 1 assists. Benjamin Griffin Bowie finished with 3 goals.
