Rochester dominated the 2014 series, dropping 18 points in both matches versus the Launch who only scored 13 and 11 goals. Casey Powell and Kieran McArdle both had five points over the two games while former Launch Jordan Hall paced the team with four points in both outings for eight points. The first leg of the 2015 series went to overtime after a 3-0 Launch run that spanned for the majority of the final quarter forced overtime with a 9-9 score, a minute and a second into extra play Rochester score the golden goal ending the game. Steven Brooks led the team with two goals and two assists for four points while McArdle had two goals with one assist for three points.   Game #13 Recap The Florida Launch traveled to Denver for its final road game of the season, losing 20-14 to the Outlaws. The Launch was able to keep the game within two for the opening half, but a 6-2 third quarter in advantage of Denver put the visitors in a hole they couldn’t get out of. Both sides exchanged goals in the final frame with Kieran McArdle scoring three of the four goals with Connor Buczek scoring a two-point goal.   Coach’s Corner

Stan-Ross-2012

Thoughts on Last Game: “You can’t have as many turnovers as we had and win a game. We didn’t play great defense and they were able to control the ball at the face-off. Winning games is all about possession and we didn’t have that for most the game.” The Final Game: “This is the team’s last chance to prove themselves heading into the offseason. We have to treat this game like it’s any other game and give it our best. Even though we aren’t playoff bound, I know the team and coaches are glad to be closing out the season at home in front of fans.” #WillHeOrWontHe: “I hope [Casey Powell] comes back for 2016. He is a tremendous player and a great locker room guy that has been a staple in our lineup. I have no idea where he is with this decision as I want his focus to be on this last game so once it is over we’ll see where we are at.”   Launch Together Déjà vu: If the Florida Launch defeats the Rattlers, they will end the season with a 5-9 mark, the same record they posted last year in its inaugural season. A win would also give the Launch a 4-3 record at home, identical to 2014. Battle at the Top: The Launch-Rattlers game will put two of the league’s best goal scorers versus each other in Kieran McArdle versus Jordan Wolf. With 43 goals and 15 assists for McArdle and 36 goals with 22 assists for Wolf both sit tied for second atop the MLL leaderboard with 58 points. Sharp Shooter: The Florida Launch sits in the top half of the league in shot percentage with a .293 clip. Lyle Thompson paces the team with a .432 percentage; the most of any player ranked in the top-25 of the league for points, where he’s tied for 16th with 32. The high accuracy ranks eighth in the league, with none of the players above him taking more than 25 shots this season.   Noteworthy Players #11 Roman Lao-Gosney (M)– After scoring two goals last week at Denver, Roman Lao-Gosney improved his goal per game average back to 1. Setting a new career-high for goals and points, he needs one more assist to tie his career-best and two to set a new record for that. Lao-Gosney is still one of only two Launch players to have played in all 24 games for the Launch in 2014 and 2015.

#22 Casey Powell (A)– Heading into the final game of the season Casey Powell sits five points away from his 100th as a member of the Launch. Kieran McArdle became the first Launch player with 100 points in a Launch jersey earlier this season, but if Powell gets it this game they both would have reached the milestone in their 24th Launch game. After the game Powell will be making a special announcement on a possible MLL retirement.

#20 Connor Buczek (M)– With only half a season of experience in the MLL, Connor Buczek has already established himself as one of the games premiere two-point scorers. Buczek leads the league with four, tying the all-time record for most two-point goals in a season by a rookie.

#74 Lyle Thompson (A)– With only seven games under his belt, MLL Rookie of the Year candidate Lyle Thompson has broken into the MLL’s Top 20 scorers leaderboard with 32 points and sits tied at 16th with Launch teammate Casey Powell and Lizards’ Tommy Palasek. Thompson still leads the 2015 MLL Rookie Class in points (32), goals (19) and assists (13).

#6 Kieran McArdle (A)– Second-year attackman Kieran McArdle looks to close out the 2015 season sitting atop the MLL leaderboard in goals where he is currently situated with 43 goals. McArdle is only one goal away from breaking into the MLL’s all-time leaderboard for goals in a season and would sit in the company of Mark Millon, John Grant Jr. and Jesse Hubbard. McArdle has already placed himself in the MLL all-time records book for goals by an attackman with 43.
