Long Running Rivalry Renewed

Old timers know Pine Crest and St. Andrew’s started competing in the 1960’s (in sports other than lacrosse). Swimming was a highlight as both schools produced Olympians. While Florida’s growth has created new conferences and districts, these two schools still “tee it up” (hey, it’s Masters week) on a regular basis. Last night in lacrosse this round went to St. Andrew’s by a 13-5 count. Pine Crest is in the first year with new head coach George Harris who inherited a young team which is a little banged up. Coach RJ Dawson of St. Andrew’s has a veteran group which is getting healthy at play-off time. The photos below celebrate the young men on both teams.
