Lynn Box Lacrosse Tournament Recap

Written by Lee Roggenburg on . Posted in .
thanks to Coach Kingsbury and Graduate Assistant Lloyd Hamilton (who’s Dad was a classmate of mine at Hobart) for the recap and pictures!   It was a great day for box lacrosse Sunday October 11 at Lynn University. The first annual Lynn box tournament was a great success and I thank everyone who participated. Pope took the first knights cup after defeating St Andrews 11-9 in the championship match.  The goal of the box lacrosse tournament was to bring together the best players from around South Florida and have them play the great sport of box lacrosse. I believe we accomplished this goal as there were some phenomenal players competing. My vision for the tournament stemmed from my upbringing in Syracuse New York. The box game is just as big as the field game up north. Growing up some of my fondest memories were playing box on the Onondaga Nation or playing over at West Genesee at Shove Park. Box serves as a great opportunity to better your stick skills as you’re working in very tight quarters. I can truly say that everyone that participated got better and that was my #1 goal. We look forward to hosting future tournaments! Lloyd Hamilton, Graduate Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach, Lynn University
