BOCA RATON, Fla. – October is shaping up to be a busy month for the Lynn University lacrosse team as the squad prepares to host a box tournament and prospect camp, along with offering multiple free clinics. Up first on the slate for the Fighting Knights is a box lacrosse tournament for high school aged players who are interested in playing box lacrosse at a high level. The tournament will take place Sunday, October 11 from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Lynn University Box Lacrosse Rink and will feature instruction from Lynn staff and experienced college box players prior to the first game. The round robin and final four style event consists of 10 players per team in a 4-v-4 plus goalies format. On October 18, the team will hold its annual fall prospect camp aimed at high school aged players who are interested in competing at the next level.  The Blue & White have landed 11 prospects on their roster from previous years and hope to continue the success. This is an instructional, but mostly game-oriented camp that includes two lacrosse sessions, lunch, a campus tour and a Q&A with the Lynn coaches regarding NCAA compliance and college recruiting. The camp is limited to 60 high school sophomores, juniors and seniors. Additionally, the lacrosse team will be offering free instructional clinics designed for all ages, skill levels and genders on select Saturdays at Lynn’s Potomac Field. The first session will take place on Saturday, September 26, with the final three sessions on each Saturday from October 10-24. Check-in begins at 8 a.m. with the clinic commencing at 8:30. The team will also conduct youth clinics every Thursday in October at the Boca Raton YMCA.
