FRESHMAN SCHWARZ POSTED THREE POINTS IN COLLEGIATE DEBUT SATURDAY
NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – After a three-point performance in his first game in a Navy and Gold uniform, freshman Tucker Schwarz (Tallahassee, Fla.) of the Merrimack College men’s lacrosse team was named the Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league Tuesday.
Schwarz needed little time to adjust to the collegiate game on Saturday for eighth-ranked Merrimack, scoring twice and assisting on another during the team’s 11-3 season-opening victory against Saint Rose.
The freshman sensation followed that up with another strong effort in this afternoon’s win against Franklin Pierce, tallying five points (2g, 3a) to help the Warriors to a 13-2 home win. The rookie now owns a team-leading eight points (4g, 4a) in two games this season.
Schwarz and the Warriors return to the turf this Sunday (March 9) to face fifth-ranked Limestone in a highly anticipated cross-conference clash at Loyola Blakefield High School in Towson, Md.
