It was an exciting evening day of High School lacrosse at the Moe’s Classic at Jacksonville University on Monday February 16th. The Mandarin Mustangs were coming off of a 2 game winning streak to face Flagler Palm Coast. The match up began on a practice field but ended on D.B. Milne Field. The first half of the game was a strong defensive effort by Flagler Palm Coast, holding Mandarin to only a 7-3 lead at the half. The 2nd half of the game saw a more potent offense under the lights of J.U.’s lacrosse stadium. The strong effort put forth by Flagler Palm Coast’s Goalie still couldn’t stop an offense by Mandarin that put up 12 additional points. Senior Midfielder Greg Depue scored a total of 5 goals, 4 coming in the second half alone and freshman Midfielder Jared Kane scored 3. In the end, Mandarin’s offense was too dominant for FPC and the Mustangs won the game 19-4. The Mustangs move on with a 3-0 record, outscoring their opponents 53-7, to face a tough Bolles Bulldogs Lacrosse team on Wednesday February 18th at 7pm. Flagler Palm Coast faces St Augustine the same night at 7pm.
