MCC Takes District 22 With 14-2 Takedown of Holy Trinity Episcopal

  On a beautiful night for lacrosse at Melbourne High School the 12-2 Melbourne Central Catholic Hustlers met the 13-3 Holy Trinity Tigers in the District 22 Championship game. The Hustlers handily defeated Sebastian River to get to the Championship game while Holy Trinity beat a gritty Mel High team 11-7 to earn their spot in the championship. The Hustlers dominated from the start. Garrett Arnold got MCC started with a goal just over a minute into the game. Keegan Stinnett contirbuted his first of five goals on an assists from Jakob Meehan less than a minute later. Kyle Johnson and Zach Davidson added tallies as the Hustlers jumped out to a 4-0 lead. From there the Hustler defense took over limiting the Tigers to only 2 goals over the course of the game. Jake Reilly had 10 saves in goal for the Hustlers. For the Hustlers: Keegan Stinnett contributed 5 goals, Garrett Arnold 4 goals and an assist, and Quinn Lowdermilk led the team with 4 assists. Jakob Meehan won 11 of 19 faceoffs and also added a goal and an assist. Next the Hustlers will square off against the Viera Hawks in the first round of the state playoff.
