What was your first lacrosse experience? And how long have you been playing?
The lacrosse team was short a couple of players and they asked if I would come help field a team. I picked up the stick and immediately knew I found my new game. I have been playing since 6th grade so almost 5 years.
What is your favorite lacrosse memory?
Winning the TOC Championship against Sweetlax after being down by 4 goals.
How would you describe your style of play?
I focus on fundamentals and good footwork. During the game I like to change how I defend/attack players to keep the attacker off balance. I do not want the opposing player to know what I will be doing.
What do you think is the strongest part of your game? What are you working to improve?
On ball defense. Always trying improve footwork and lateral movement.
What is important to you in selecting a college?
Getting into a college that will offer me a good education but I would also like to play for a coach that can teach me about the game.
Which college team or players do you most enjoy watching?
Scott Rattliff as an individual but I like to watch Notre Dame’s defense.
Who was your biggest lacrosse influence?
I have had the fortune of having very good coaches and early in my career they explained to me what it takes to play at the Division 1 level. I have listened to their guidance and advice and because of their knowledge it has made me better athlete and person.
What is your lacrosse goal for 2016?
I hope to continue to improve my game.
How would you describe your high school team?
We are a technically sound team but we do not have a big roster. We can compete with the best of teams but we have to play our style of game.
How would you like your teammates to describe you?
I hope they refer to me as a quality player, a leader, a player that gives everything he has while on the field, and a friend.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
Making the Under Armour South Team. There were a lot of quality players and good athletes at the tryout and to have been selected is a true honor.
Do you have any pre-game rituals?
I say a Prayer.
Would you rather ride the bench on a great team OR start for a mediocre team?
I want to play on a great team and to earn a starting position. We train a long time and the reward is to be able to step on the field and compete.
This spring, St. Edwards will look to improve upon its 7-7 2015 campaign. Danny will play large role for his team by creating turnovers and pushing transition. Take a look at Danny’s highlight tape below!
