SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo University Women’s Lacrosse Coach Lesley Graham and the Department of Athletics have announced the hiring of Megan Nutter as the team’s assistant coach. Fresh off back-to-back winning seasons, Nutter’s playing and coaching experiences will be a large asset to the program.

“We are really looking forward to having Megan on the sidelines with us this year,” said head coach Lesley Graham. “Her vast knowledge of the game and previous coaching experience will be instrumental in helping us achieve our goals for the 2015 season. She’s personable and hardworking, which will relate well to our team and our Lions community.”

Nutter joins a program that kicked off its inaugural season in 2012 and has since become a top contender in Division II. After three seasons of independent competition, the program will join Florida Southern, Florida Tech, Rollins, and Tampa in a newly-formed league in the spring of 2015, as the Sunshine State Conferences begins its first season sponsoring women’s lacrosse.

Although this will be her first season with the Lions, Nutter is no stranger to the world of coaching. The newcomer began her collegiate coaching career at Randolph College in Lynchburg, Va., where she served as the program’s assistant coach for several years. With her experience and knowledge of the mid-Atlantic area, Nutter was then named an assistant coach for the Robert Morris women’s lacrosse program in Pittsburgh, Pa, where she worked with the offensive units and served in several administrative capacities. Since 2006, she has also been worked as a youth lacrosse coach, assisting programs such as South Jersey Select Lacrosse, North Atlantic Lacrosse, and the International Sports Center.
