Pockets and Sockets is a very special event put together by a number of very special people.  One of them, Jennifer Bolger, sent this thank you to volunteers.  We at FLN are pleased to pass the word a little bit further.  

I am sitting on the couch this morning, thinking about yesterday and I cannot stop myself from smiling – and I am smiling for sooooo many reasons.

 

It was really nice to see so many families and lacrosse teams and lacrosse coaches and lacrosse referees come together to raise money for such a great young man and great family. One reason to smile. I estimate probably about 2000 plus in attendance. Another reason to smile. The weather was great and everyone seemed to have a wonderful time. Another reason to smile.

 

Please know that I realize without all of your help…this day and this tournament would not be possible. A special thanks to Jay Liegey for spending so much time lining the 9 fields for Mikey over the past 10 days. Another reason to smile.

 

I want to thank each and every player and each and every coach and each and every referee and each and every trainer from the bottom of my heart. Coming out was a choice, volunteering was a choice. All of these choices do not go unnoticed! Another reason to smile.

 

I think we had almost every single thing (aside from the scoreboard on the fence) donated to the event…so every penny that was collected through team registrations & donations will go directly to Mikey and the charity! Another reason to smile.

 

Looking forward to Pockets&Sockets 2015…same weekend next year. Another reason to smile.

Hopefully we will see you all out on the fields…playing the game we love for a kid we all love!
