Chanenchuk, a 2014 graduate of the University of Maryland, was drafted in the 2014 Collegiate Draft by the Charlotte Hounds at the 11th overall selection. He joined the team in early June and played in the final nine games of the season to finish with 14 points (9G, 5A). During the 2015 season, Chanenchuk missed the first four games with an injury. For the remainder of the season, he finished with 14 goals and 22 points to rank fifth overall on the offense. He followed that up in Week 11 with a new career-high of eight points. Chanenchuk scored six goals and added two assists in the 15-14 overtime victory against the Atlanta Blaze. He scored the last three goals of the game in order to force overtime, secure the Hounds’ victory and win Coca-Cola Player of the Game honors. In Week 14, Chanenchuk posted his second six-goal game during the Hounds’ 15-12 loss to the Denver Outlaws. Playing in all 14 games, Chanenchuk finished the regular season with 53 overall points, only trailing teammate Joey Sankey who tallied 54 points. Chanenchuk led the team in goals with 34 and was second on the team with 17 assists. Coming up behind Chanenchuk in the voting was Atlanta attackman Kevin Rice with 28 points. Rice only played in nine games due to injury but led the team in points with 58 (37g, 21a).
