Editor’s Note – the original draft time was scheduled for 8:30pm but that has been moved up to 2:00pm because of the pending snow storm   Note: FLN Senior Writer Lee Roggenburg will be on his way to Baltimore Friday morning . . . assuming the winter storm caused by global warming does not ground him in Florida . . . to cover the US Lacrosse Convention this weekend.  Lee will be covering the draft live for us and if you look closely at the internet broadcast you can probably make him out in the background . . . not that this is why you should check in though!  The details of the live broadcast are below and it starts at 2:00pm EST, meaning local fans can catch it all even after a dinner and a movie . . .  The Launch hold SEVEN of the Top 29 picks, making them very active players in finding those missing pieces that will elevate them to championship consideration!  Fans remember how well last year’s draft turned out for them, highlighted by the drafting of Lyle Thompson and Connor Buczek #1 and #2 overall, with both contributing big time.  Other draftees that contributed were Casey Ikeda (now with Atlanta) and Pat Frazier, who both contributed greatly as they got comfortable with the league.  Draftee Kevin Rice was one of the main pieces in a trade that brought Miles Thompson to the Launch too. A recap of mock drafts indicates the possibility of the Launch drafting Notre Dame’s outstanding long pole Matt Landis in the #3 overall slot . . . we’ll have to see if those predictions pan out!   via press release from MLL   Boston, MA– The 2016 MLL Collegiate Draft presented by Cascade will take place Friday, January 22, 2016 from 2:00pm conclusion in the Baltimore Hilton’s Holiday Ballroom. This marks the 16^th Collegiate Draft in the history of the MLL. The event will take place in conjunction with the 2016 US Lacrosse National Convention being held at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, MD. The draft is free and open to the public while space permits. The Collegiate Draft will be streamed LIVE on Lax Sports Network beginning with a special announcement made by Commissioner David Gross at the start of the draft. During the draft, Cascade will unveil all of the new team and league helmets and Atlanta Blaze will unveil their new uniforms designed and created by New Balance. During the first round of the draft, teams will have five minutes per selection. In rounds 2-5, teams will have three minutes per selection. In rounds 6-8, teams will have 2 minutes per selection.
