Chesapeake Bayhawks (0-1) vs. Boston Cannons (1-1)
Saturday, 7:00 PM on LSN
The Chesapeake Bayhawks will be shipping up to Boston to face the Cannons this Saturday.
Storylines: Last week the Cannon’s offense didn’t have enough firepower to defeat the Blaze, as their attackmen accounted for three points combined. Look for the Cannons attack to pack a more powerful punch this weekend as Will Manny, Davey Emala and Kylor Bellistri aim to have a much more significant impact on the game against the Bayhawks.
For the Bayhawks, they’re coming off of a bye week and should be fully rested. They dropped their season opener in a tough overtime loss to the New York Lizards and will be coming out flying to get their first win of the season. They’ll be relying on their flock of talented midfielders to lift them over the Cannons this weekend.
Players to watch: Will Manny for the Cannons and Myles Jones for the Bayhawks. Will they be able to provide the offensive spark to lead their respective team to victory?
Ohio Machine (2-0) vs. Rochester Rattlers (0-1)
Saturday, 7:00 PM on Twitter
Storylines: The Ohio Machine are opening a new stadium this weekend, Obetz Fortress Field, the first professional lacrosse-specific stadium in the world and are looking to christen it with a win. They’ve had a strong start to the season and will look to continue to stay in form with great performances from their notorious defensive line of faceless men along with attackmen Mark Cockerton and Marcus Holman.
For the Rochester Rattlers, they too are looking to secure their first victory of the season. Though some important veterans will be missing for the Rattlers this weekend, the return of John Galloway in net will be massive.
Players to Watch: Mark Cockerton had a huge week for the Machine last week (4 G, 3 A) and will look to repeat his performance again this week. The return of John Galloway for the Rattlers will be huge for them as well and he has potential to be the difference maker.
Charlotte Hounds (0-2) vs. Denver Outlaws (2-0)
Sunday, 5:00 PM, on LSN
Storylines: The Charlotte Hounds aren’t quite desperate for a win but starting 0-3 is less than ideal. They are sure to be playing hungry all game long, looking to grab a lead early and hang on. The Hounds will be relying on their young players to turn this season around.
The Outlaws have had a polar opposite start to the season, at 2-0 and with 10 straight wins dating back to last June, things are going well in the mile high city. They’ve come out of the gate looking like champions so far this season and will want to continue their fantastic form again this weekend.
Players to watch: John Haus will try to be a force in the midfield for the Hounds while on the other end Matt Kavanagh has every intention of continuing on his offensive tear to start the season.
