North Florida Play Day For A Cause Raises Over $3,000 for Charities!

We are proud to that announce that December 22nd was not only a successful day on the lacrosse field, but more importantly; a successful day in raising money for two great causes! This recently passed year marked the completion of the first annual North Florida Play Day For A Cause. The play day consisted of 3 local clubs: Team Bruin (Bartram Trail HS,) Possums (Ponte Vedra HS) and SA Villages (Nease HS along with other Saint Augustine area players.) Each club played two games against each other throughout the afternoon. Although there were not scores kept, it was an awesome opportunity to get out and compete again some of North Florida’s best while playing for a great cause. Each player was asked to make a small donation in order to play. That, coupled with local referees donating their time, Corporal Henry Crafton of the St. John’s Sheriffs Office for lining the fields, and a couple of anonymous donors adding in some extra money; we were able to raise right over $3,000. Everything raised will go directly to benefit the The Lupus Foundation as well as The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. We would like to truly thank everyone that donated their time and effort to helping make this happen. We look forward to another awesome Play Day in 2013.   For Details on the 2013 North Florida Play Day for a Cause for GIRLS and BOYS, go to www.possumslax.com
