Ponte Vedra High School boys’ Lacrosse opened the season strong tonight with a 17-1 win over the Falcons of Pedro Menendez High School. Junior middie Ben Buchanan led scoring for the PV Sharks, getting four goals in the first half. Attackman Reid Smith followed with three goals and two assists. Sophomores Matt Keeler, Marshall Few and Andrew O’Dare added two points apiece. The Sharks defense, anchored tonight by freshman goalie Wyatt Schupler and bolstered by sophomore Hal Swan, held the Falcons to a single goal scored in the fourth period. Pedro had only three shots on the night, and two saves.
