Above – Cody Legeza had three goals in the first quarter to get PV to a fast start
Soggy field conditions forced Ponte Vedra to move their home game to Providence School Tuesday night. It was another dominant first quarter and first half for the Sharks against a young but improving Mandarin team. Senior Cody Legeza scored a hat trick in the first quarter and fellow senior Garrett Boyle slammed in two. Goals by Jason Randolph, Rob Peeters and Evan Weiner gave the Sharks an 8-0 halftime lead. Many of the starters rested in the 2nd half and other players got the opportunity to play both sides of the field and add to the score including Miles Silva, Marshall Few, Cord Bishop, Ben Buchanan, Grant Newell and Ryan Wiele. Goalies Jake Anderson and Colin Peaks combined for 4 saves. For the Mustangs, senior Jonathon Dister led scoring with two goals. Goalie Brent Gordon was credited with 9 saves. The Sharks play host to Lake Brantley on Thursday night. They will then finish the regular season hosting Fleming Island on Saturday before facing Nease in the first round of Districts on Wednesday the 15th.
Mandarin looks to close out the regular season hosting Atlantic Coast (3-8) tonight and Lincoln-Tallahassee (6-8) tomorrow.
