Ponte Vedra Rolls Past Oak Hall

The Ponte Vedra Sharks dominated the Oak Hall Eagles with a decisive 16-4 win in the second round play-in game. The game was close in the first quarter with the Sharks up 3-2. Ponte Vedra went on a scoring spree with 6 unanswered goals in the second quarter to bring the score to 9-2 at the break. The scoring pace slowed in third with each team adding only one point to the board. In the fourth quarter, the scoring picked up again with Ponte Vedra outscoring Oak Hall to bring the final score to 16-4. PV-vs-OH-and-Creekside-154_optA balanced offensive effort resulted in 9 different Ponte Vedra players hitting the back of the net. Leading the Sharks in total points were Dalton LeMaster with 2 goals and 3 assists, Reece Andrews with 3 goals and 1 assist and Garrett Boyle with 2 goals and 2 assists. Logan Taucher had 9 ground balls and 1 assist during the game and Evan Weiner had 1 goal, 5 ground balls and 2 forced turn overs. Ponte Vedra’s strong defense led by Nick Buckley, Fischer Anderson and Parker Eastland stifled Oak Hall’s offense and gave the Eagles few opportunities to challenge the Sharks. Goalie Ryan Applegate had six saves during the game. Ponte Vedra advances to the FHSAA Finals Third-Round Play-In Game against Maclay next Tuesday at home.
