The Sharks got off to a quick start with a goal from Captain Dalton LeMaster in the opening seconds of the game. Ponte Vedra continued to build on that momentum increasing their lead to 4-0 at the half. Creekside never gave up and chipped away at the lead, eventually tying the game with two minutes left to play in the fourth quarter. With the game in overtime, Nick DeMasi stripped the Creekside offense to get the ball going Ponte Vedra’s way. The Sharks capitalized on that opportunity with the game winning goal from backside pipe scored by Scott Applegate with a feed from his brother Eric. Leading the Sharks in scoring were Reece Andrews with 2 goals and 1 assist and Scott Applegate with 2 goals. Logan Taucher kept the ball going the Sharks way by winning 10 out of 15 face offs and picking up 8 ground balls. Ponte Vedra’s defensive strength was a decisive factor in the game. The outstanding defense lead by Nick Buckley, Fischer Anderson and Parker Eastland completely shut down Creekside’s offense in the first half. LSM Evan Weiner led the team in forced turnovers. Captain Goalie Ryan Applegate was a wall with an incredible 12 saves during the game. Scoring for Creekside were Scott Eccher, Ryan Jennis and Anthony Teixeira.
