Pope John Paul Junior Headed to Mount St. Mary’s

2014 Junior Attackman Mikey Urso, Pope John Paul II HS, Boca Raton, has verbally committed to Mount St. Mary’s University (DI) in Emmitsburg, Maryland. The coaching staff, players, state of the art facilities, academics (pre-law program), and small class size, made it a great fit for Mikey. He is a member of the Florida Swashbucklers Club team, Florida Elite and the Stampede Lacrosse Club (Martin County). He’s coming out of his first semester Junior year with a 3.9 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society. He was 2nd Team All Region, 2nd Team All District, scored 26 goals, 15 assists and 91 GB’s his Sophomore year. Mikey is going to enjoy is last two seasons at Pope and wants to thank his teammates for being a great group of friends & family. He wouldn’t be in this position without the help, guidance and leadership from his Head Coach Andrew Bolger and his wife Jennifer, whom he considers family. “Thank you Coach for all you have done for me!” Mikey would also like to thank all of his other coaches, including Chirs DeVico (Asst Pope); Erick Perez, Matt Sofarelli, Chris Walls (Stampede); Nick O’Hara, Danny Loftus (BDE); and a special thanks to Chris Anderson & Chris Walls for beginning the first ever rec program in Martin County (Pioneers), which allowed him the opportunity to begin playing this great sport.
