Tommy Dunne, a 2014 defenseman from Pope John Paul II High School in Boca Raton has made a verbal commitment to Coach Jason Miller at St. John’s University.  Tommy recorded 56 groundballs, 19 caused turnovers, 3 assists and 1 goal during his sophomore season with the Eagles. He was named Brine All American and recognized as a Second Team All District representative. Tommy also plays for the FL Swashbucklers and FL Elite Club teams. He was selected for the All Star teams at the Brine National Lacrosse Classic, Blue Chip 225 Rising Juniors Elite Division and Super Sophs. He was selected to be a member of the team representing Florida at the Brine National Lacrosse Classic Tournament.  Tommy also plays defensive end and linebacker for the Pope John Paul II Varsity Football Team. Tommy appreciated Coach Miller and Coach Paccione’s honesty and straight-forward recruiting style. He considered other D1 schools before deciding on St. John’s and is looking forward to playing in the Big East Conference.  Last Spring STJ made it to the Big East Championship against Syracuse. STJ defeated Georgetown and Notre Dame and finished the season ranked no. 20 in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse Poll.   Tommy would like to thank Coach Andrew Bolger and his wife Jennifer for their friendship, guidance and support, and the many things they have done to help him achieve this goal. He thanks Coach Kevin Finnerin for sharing his love of the game. He also thanks Coach Chris DiVico for his mentoring. And finally, Tommy thanks his parents for all the miles they journeyed to take him to tournaments, games, camps and recruiting events.
