Sickles Gryphons hosted the Robinson Knights on Monday night with the Gryphons looking to exact revenge for the 2 losses they suffered against the Knights last year. Sickles lost 3-5 in the first game last year and lost an overtime game 5-6 late in the year.
Jack Bright scored the first goal of the game at 5:57 in the first while Alex Aldazabal had another great game in front of the net stopping 12 shots while only allowing one goal. Robinson’s B. Spence scored the Knights lone goal in the third with 4:47 left in the quarter to make it 7-1, but Robinson could not muster any further scoring in the game.
The much improved Sickles squad (5-1, 1-1) has a district game at rival Alonso Ravens (1-3, 0-1) on Thursday as they look to revenge another loss from last year. The next night, Robinson will host the same Ravens team in a non-conference matchup.
