South Plantation’s Alex Collins Finishes Signing To Play Football for Arkansas

South Plantions top middie happens to be a pretty darn good football player too. At 5’11” and 207 lbs with 4.45 speed in the forty he was ranked as the number 7 running back in the country by ESPN. But signing day didn’t go as planned and it took about 24 hours for Alex to finish signing his letter of intent.  Apparently, according to ESPN, his mother refused to sign the paperwork.  She wanted him to sign with Miami and stay closer to home.  Who can blame a mother for that? He ran for 1276 yards and 14 touchdowns his senior season and had offers from Miami, Florida, Wisconsin and Florida State but chose Arkansas against his mother’s wishes. He’s off to Arkansas but we do hope we get to enjoy another season of his tremendous athleticism  on the lacrosse field.  Watch the video and think about what this kid could have done on the lacrosse field if he had started playing in his freshman year, or in sixth grade! An amazing athlete.
