Sarah M. Landauer Memorial Invitational Features Expanded Field

GAINESVILLE, February 5, 2013 – Eastside High School has announced they will host their second annual Sarah M. Landauer Memorial Lacrosse Invitational and 5K on Friday March 1st and Saturday March 2nd. This year’s field consists of 11 schools from around the state including the Panhandle, Space Coast, Jacksonville, Orlando, Ocala, and Gainesville.
The tournament will feature four games Friday March 1st and another exciting day of lacrosse with twelve games scheduled on March 2nd preceded by the SMiLe 5K. Proceeds benefit the Sarah M. Landauer University of Florida Memorial Soccer Endowment; for more information regarding the endowment go to www.sarahlandauer.org .
This year’s expanded field includes host school Eastside High School, Gainesville High School, Buchholz High School, Trinity Catholic High School, Lawton Chiles High School, Nease High School, Gulf Breeze High School, Pensacola High School, Rockledge High School, and The First Academy.
We are very excited about this year’s event, it has doubled in size year and the level of competition in the state of Florida is improving rapidly. This year’s expanded field looks to provide for some really exciting lacrosse.
The event will be played entirely at the Alachua Recreation Complex located at 14300 NW 146th Terrace, Alachua, FL 32615. Admission into the facility is $5 (under 12 is free). Games will be played from 4:30 until 9:00 p.m. Friday and Games on Saturday will be run from 9:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. The 5K will kick off at 8 a.m. on Saturday for early registration to run the 5K go to http://www.deepsouthlacrosse.com/events.html there is a minimum donation of $20 to run in the event and it includes admission for the day.
