Wyatt Ripper of South Forks works against Danny Walsh of St. Eds  – Photo by Sam Wolf The Pirates jumped out to an early 6-1 lead led at halftime 6-2.  St. Edwards was able to take command of the possession game behind the stifling control of the face off’s by Senior Captain Terrell Sands (High Point).  Sands dominated the first half winning 6 of 7 face offs helping the Pirates build a solid lead. The inexperienced Pirates began to show their true age going into the second half when turnovers and transition goals helped the Gators get back into the game. By the 4th quarter the Gators, behind Trevor Keena,  managed to get the game back to even at 8 goals apiece before  Austin Strazzulla put the Pirates back out in front for good. The Pirates would go on to win helped out by the defensive play of Danny Walsh with his first assist of the year to Ross Pridemore. The Victory was sealed by Ritter Marchant who had 2 goals on the day. Mason Heim, Terrell Sands, and Ian Leventon each scored unassisted. Strazzulla, Pridemore, Marchant, and Hurwitz each scored 2 goals. Armande Cocuzza played well in Goal but the Palm Beach Gardens Gators appeared to be looking past the young pirates early! Trevor Keena had 4 goals and 1 assist, Zack Dees chipped in 3 goals, Stephan Smith added 2 goals and James Gullo added 1 goal and 1 assist.
