Written by Lee Roggenburg on . Posted in .
Florida Lacrosse News is proud to announce that we have partnered with the Florida Scholastic Press Association to offer scholarships and a writing outlet for budding lacrosse sports writers. Two new contests are available throughFloridaLacrosseNews.com, and both contest winners will earn $500, with $250 for each winner and $250 for each winner’s high school journalism program. The Story of the Year will go to the most compelling and well written story of the 2013 high school lacrosse season.  The Contributing Editor of the Year will be awarded to the student whose work throughout the 2013 high school lacrosse season shows the best quality AND quantity.  The website is open for submissions now, but to enter the contests, journalists will resubmit their work to the FSPA contest database in the fall. It is simple for a student to register to become a contributing editor.  On the right hand side or this page find the user login/registration.  The student will simply register as a new user and put their high school in their bio when they fill it out. In addition, FloridaLacrosseNews.com has opened our new lacrosse photo publishing website to publish any photos submitted by high school photojournalists.  These photos are featured on their website and can be purchased and downloaded.  FloridaLacrosseNews.com will split the revenues with the journalism program at the photojournalist’s school. For information about publishing your photos contact photos@Floridalacrossenews.com. This is a great opportunity to get bylines on a professional website, plus it will make an excellent resume-builder for college. Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to get published and possibly win money for you and your school. The lacrosse season began Jan. 28, so start submitting your stories and photos now!
