SUMMER SOLSTICE Lacrosse Camp is scheduled for Monday, June 20 – Friday, June 24 and is for kids ages 13-17. The camp will cost $400 which includes reversible, camp shorts, and lunch dailyÂThe camp Philosophy is simple. Lots of lacrosse hours for the money!We want to give our campers a well-rounded experience which helps them master all major aspects of lacrosse on and off the field.Fifty Hours of lacrosse includes team offense and team defensive concepts, including zone defense and offensive formations, 1-4-1, 2-3-1, and 1-3-2.Camp begins daily with the Fitness Center and other strength, speed, and agility workouts.Campers will utilize video instruction and will be able to analyze their own play during post lunch video sessions.Daily top level lacrosse drills for clearing, riding, unsettled situations and transition.Full field scrimmages each night under the lights!Sample camp schedule;10:00-12:00 Strength TrainingFitness Center, Plyometric, Conditioning, Speed and Agility12:00-13:00 Lunch($4/Day included)13:00-14:00 Wall Work14:00-16:00 Film SessionChalk TalkStyles of PlayTechniqueIndividual and Team Breakdown16:00-17:00 Offense/DefenseOffense Team Sets2-2-2, 1-4-1, 2-3-1, 3-3, 1-3-2Defense Team SetsMan-to-Man, Diamond Zone, Pressure Defense, off ball Play and Sliding17:00-18:00 Dinner(On your Own)18:00-20:00 Evening Practice DrillsShootingMan to Man PlayDodgingStick SkillsUnsettled SituationsOne on One GOALIE Instruction/drills20:00-22:00 Night GamesFull field team instruction and ScrimmageCoach Bio’sDaniel Penengo, Camp Director & MidfieldCoach Penengo has been the head coach at MCDS for ten years. He is the President of the Miami Lacrosse Club, Inc. and also plays top level Club Lacrosse in Florida. He has been a camp counselor with Ultimate, Academy Lacrosse, and Lightning Lacrosse Camps.Thomas Wong, LSM and DM InstructionThomas Wong is currently an assistant coach at Miami Country Day School. He played lacrosse at BABSON College (D-III) where he was a 4-year starting LSM. He was previously an assistant defensive coach for his former high school team in Southlake, TX.Chaka Bainbridge, Attackmen CoachChaka played lacrosse in Canada and starred as a box lacrosse player. He has played overseas in New Zealand and is involved in coaching youth lacrosse in South Florida. He is a sports agent for top athletes around the world.Aaron Feuer, Defensemen/Goalie CoachAaron captured two State Championships as a defenseman at St. Andrew’s. He was selected Captain and chosen as an Academic All-American as a senior.
