Sunshine State Conference Players of the Week!

via press release   Men’s Lacrosse   Austin Jerhoff / Lynn University / So. / Attack / Calgary, Alberta, Canada   Austin Jerhoff Lynn 2015   Jerhoff is awarded SSC Offensive Player of the Week following his 11 points this week. Jerhoff helped 20th-ranked Lynn to victories over MIT and Young Harris, scoring four goals in both outings. In a 17-6 victory over MIT, Jerhoff tied for the team-lead with four goals, two assists, and a ground ball. Jerhoff added another four goals to his season total and an assist while picking up four ground balls in the 13-5 win over Young Harris. Jerhoff has accumulated 22 goals and 11 assists on the season as the Fighting Knights have a 7-3 overall record and are 0-1 in SSC play.   Pat Brothers / Lynn University / Gr. / Goalkeeper / Burlington, Mass.   Pat Brothers Lynn 2016   Brothers takes SSC Defensive Player of the Week honors after turning away 21 shots in between in goal to lead the Fighting Knights defensive efforts. Lynn picked up two wins this week, allowing six or less goals in both outings. Brothers made 10 stops through three quarters of play on Wednesday as the Fighting Knights took down MIT, 17-6. The Burlington, Massachusetts native followed it up with 11 saves on Saturday in the team’s 13-5 shutdown over Young Harris. He also collected four ground balls on the week as he improved to 6-3 on the season in goal.  The Fighting Knights are 7-3 on the year, 0-1 in SSC play.   Joseph Biondi / Florida Southern College / Fr. / Midfielder / Orange, Conn.   Joseph Bionid Florida Southern 2016   Biondi earns his second SSC Specialist of the Week honor this season after going 30-42 on faceoffs and picking up 12 ground balls in two victories for Florida Southern. Biondi opened the week by going 18-for-22 on faceoffs and picked up eight ground balls in a victoryover Adams State, 13-6. In the Moccasins first SSC match of the season, Biondi went 12-20 on faceoffs and picked up four ground balls as FSC defeated Florida Tech, 12-5. Florida Southern is 8-5 overall and 1-0 in SSC play.   Women’s Lacrosse   Ashley Robertson / Florida Southern College / Sr. / Attacker / Ellicot City, MD     FSC  Florida Southern   Robertson is this week’s SSC Offensive Player of the Week after guiding the Moccasins to victories over No. 14 Queens and Lenoir-Rhyne. The Florida Southern senior scored six goals on seven shots and also recorded two draw controls and two ground balls to help No. 11 Florida Southern improve to 7-3 on the year. Robertson opened the week with a five goal game against No. 14 Queens and was efficient as all five of her shots went for goals. Robertson also picked up two ground balls and had a draw control. The five goals tied a season and career high for Robertson. In the win over Lenoir-Rhyne (17-6), the Ellicot City, Maryland native scored a goal on two shots and had one draw control.  Florida Southern is 7-3 overall.   Gabby Barowski / Florida Southern College / Sr. / Defender / Alexandria, Va.   Barowski_206a   Barowski earns SSC Defensive Player of the Week after limiting opponents to just 12 goals across two games. Barowski caused three turnovers, picked up seven ground balls and helped anchor a Moccasin defense that allowed just six goals in each game and a defense that caused 14 overall turnovers. At No. 14 Queens, Barowski recorded two ground balls and held Queen’s leading goal scorer Abigail Paulus without a goal in the 14-6 victory. The Alexandria, Virginia native had three caused turnovers and six ground balls in the 17-6 win at Lenoir-Rhyne. Florida Southern is 7-3 overall.
