
Tampa Falls to Malloy 14-13

Tampa, FLA -The University of Tampa Women’s Lacrosse team were defeated on Sunday afternoon by a score of 14-13.
The game truely was a back an forth affair as Malloy, and UT traded scores the entire match.
Malloy’s Katie O’Brien who finished with a hat trick along with two assists scored what would be the game winning goal with 2:07 left on the clock in the second half. Tampa couldn’t put away a goal to bring them even despite their best effort.
The Spartan’s attack was led by the two headed monster that is Amanda Voges and Madison Creech with both putting away four goals a piece. Natalie carraway proved to be a force to be reckoned with netting two goals of her own. Also adding to Tampa’s scoring efforts were: Amanda Rom, Shannon Sweeney, Emilie Barbosa each tallying a goal.
After going with commitee of goalie’s last week as Rollins Coach Gallagher gave the start in net to sophomore Jaime Austin who looked up to the challenge despite the result as she recorded eight saves in net.
The Spartans will continue the quest for their first win of 2015 on the road Friday against No.5 Limestone College. UT’s next game is slated for 7PM at Saints Field in Gaffney, SC. Live stats will be available through TampaSpartans.tv.
