Ready for the first game of the day as Olympia is set to face Ponte Vedra in the first girls’ semifinal! Olympia is led by 50-plus goal scorers Emily Headley and Ashley Matthews and their first year coach Elyse DeLisle and come in with a record of 16-2, including a 16-15 win over Ponte Vedra on the road four weeks ago. Ponte Vedra is led by Jade Gordan and Jordan Grune who also both went over the 50 goal mark and are coached by Kelly Dotsikas   PV jumps out early to a 1-0 lead in the first 12 seconds and follows up at 22:47 with a bounce shot off a restart for the 2-0 lead.   Olympia gets one back at 19:33 to make it 2-1 Beautiful day out today . . . unlike last year’s monsoon fiasco.  Temps not even in the 80’s yet Looks like some more construction has been completed since last year . . . a couple of baseball stadiums PV takes a 3-1 lead at 17:19.  Time out on the field Not a lot fans yet.   PV stretches it out to 4-1 at 16:21 as they fed the middle from the right wing PV’s defense playing very aggressively and Olympia’s shooters have missed the net on some good looks inside. Olympia with the bounce shot off restart to make it 4-2 at 11:49 left in the first half Time out on the field   PV comes right back off the faceoff to make it 5-2 at 11:39, taking advantage of a fast break off the faceoff and going inside.  Two quick  faceoff fast break goals so far. Olympia comes back at 10:28 to make it 5-3 with a low left corner shot. See if Olympia gets the next faceoff to keep momentum Nope But Olympia gets back quick and PV goes settled and turns it over But Olympia turns it over on transition and the resulting fast break is converted by PV at 9:31 for the 6-3 lead.  Tough momentum killer for Olympia who should have converted their break   PV scores on the quick restart at 8:44 to go up 7-3 as they keep controlling the faceoffs.
