The First Annual Tampa Bay Lacrosse Festival Set For Jan 21

Written by Lee Roggenburg on . Posted in .
Monday January 21(Martin Luther King Holiday) from 9am to 3PM at Skyway Park is a day to celebrate lacrosse in the area and hang out with your lacrosse buddies. Just re-lax! The day will include hourly clinics by local Youth, HS and College coaches (shooting, face-offs, stick stringing, goalie work, etc..), interactive booths, lacrosse vendors, give a way’s, raffles, concessions etc. Just a fun lacrosse day! Admission is $25 for the day, and proceeds will go towards two great causes: Hillsborough County High Schools are going FHSA in 2014. This is very exciting news and there are many that have spent countless hours over the years to make this happen! However, to finalize this there is a very large amount of money that needs to be raised to meet what the school board has imposed financially to be sanctioned. Now is the time to step up and help make this a reality! Our second and very important cause goes towards the Jim Wags Lacrosse Fundraiser. Jim was a former lacrosse player who tragically died leaving behind 2 kids. As their mother passed away several years ago they are now left without any parents! Jim Shaler (S. Tampa Stix) has set up a trust fund through Bank of America for the kids! As a lacrosse community we have always stepped up for worthy causes and we will continue to do so. Two great causes and a great event to provide local lacrosse players the opportunity to enjoy the day while giving back! Please note that donations will also be accepted for both for causes at the fields.
