Press Release provided by Stephanie Mastro   The Jesuit Lacrosse Classic will continue in 2014 for the 2nd year. It is being hosted by Tampa Jesuit High School under the direction of new head coach Brian Lemon.  After a 14 year run hosted by Georgetown Preparatory School and Gonzaga College High School, the classic moved South to warmer weather in 2013. Started by two brothers with a passion for lacrosse and a strong calling for helping others, the Classic has now become the nation’s largest all-Jesuit High School athletic event. In 1997 competing teams for two Jesuit high schools, Georgetown Prep and Gonzaga, respectively, were anxious to find more competitors. The teams conceived the first Jesuit Lacrosse Classic. Over the last ten years, sixteen different Jesuit high schools from nine states have participated in the JLC. Tampa Jesuit is honored to host this wonderful event. Chaired by Stephanie Mastro for the 2nd year, it is great to meet other teams that share our players  love for the game of Lacrosse  and continuing the tradition of this classic, playing with teammates representing Jesuit Schools who represent the same beliefs we do; becoming men of faith and “Men of Others”. Teams coming this year are top ranked in the United States.  The event features Gonzaga, St. Ignatius of Chicago, Desmet, St. Louis University, Belen Jesuit (Miami), Strake Jesuit, Canisius, Tampa Jesuit and Fordham Prep, among others. Live Televised games will be Friday night, available through Brighthouse Sports Networks. Admission is free. Games begin Thursday March 20th and run throughout the weekend.
