A trio of Timber Creek players scored multiple goals. There was not a facet of the game that Timber Creek did not dominate from starting whistle to end of the game. The was never really in question.  Four separate players scored for University. Timber Creek faceoff man Sean Johnson (1G, 1A) won 17 faceoff’s on the evening and dictated the outcome of almost every possession. Once again the speed of the Timber Creek middies was not something University could find an answer for, the entire evening. Trey Grenga (2G) and Jake Sousa (3G,2A) offer one of the fastest mid-field transition games in the area, if not the state. Timber Creek attack led by senior Nate Gillan (3G) and junior’s Preston Hopkins (3G) and EJ Wheeler (2G, 3A), scored on some strong dodges from the X and did an admirable job of consistently distributing the ball in their motion offense. As well, freshman Dylan Mace got some valuable playing time and his first varsity goal for Timber Creek. The University goalie Gavarinski had double digit saves, but got little support from his overmatched defense. When the game ended Timber Creek had picked up their first valuable district win in dominating fashion 16-4. Once again coach Trey Gordon used the 2nd half to gain some valuable field time for his young roster, including a number of freshman. This could prove invaluable in the upcoming district schedule. Michael Acevedo had some very strong saves in the second half in goal for Timber Creek. Timber Creek has three games next week with West Orange, Lake Nona and a critical game versus Winter Park. Timber Creek goes to 3-1 on this young season.
