Tyler Baggett’s Six Goals Lead Oak Hall Past Fleming Island

The Eagles trailed 1-0 with less than a minute remaining in the first quarter before Baggett took command. He scored Oak Hall’s first goal on a bounce shot while moving across the box from right to left, one of his four first half goals. Baggett’s conversion of a centering pass from attack Jake Kirschner capped a four-goal run in a three-minute span that gave the Eagles a 4-1 lead. Fleming Island came within two goals on a drive and shot from the left wing by senior Josh Gracia, but two more tallies by Baggett gave Oak Hall a 6-2 advantage at halftime. The Eagles, now 6-1, outshot Fleming Island 36-22, holding a significant advantage in possession time. Sophomore middie Evan Moorhouse played a crucial role, winning 13 of 18 faceoffs. Kirschner had two goals and two assists, while Will Oliver, Alek Kirschner and Brad Pita also found the net for Oak Hall. Sophomore goalie Ryan Kelly had twelve saves for Fleming Island, who falls to 3-3. Devan Marquis, Will Yarbrough and Hayden LaVangie added goals for the Golden Eagles, who host Nease Friday at 6:00.
