NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – After totaling a team-high six points over two games last week, Merrimack College men’s lacrosse freshman Tucker Schwarz (Tallahassee, Fla.) has earned his second straight Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week award, as unveiled Tuesday by the league. Schwarz, who has shown very little rust in making the transition into the college game, was brilliant for the Warriors yet again over the week. He started things off with a five-point performance (2g, 3a) in last Tuesday afternoon’s 13-2 victory against conference foe Franklin Pierce before extending his point streak to three games with an assist in Sunday’s cross-regional showdown with fifth-ranked Limestone. The Tallahassee, Fla., native leads all Warriors in scoring (4g, 5a, 9pts) on the season and has fired 23 shots and converted on 17.4 percent of them. He has added five ground balls to that total and has been whistled for just one penalty on the year. Schwarz and the rest of the Warriors return to action this Saturday (March 15) when they return to NE-10 action against Saint Michael’s at 4 p.m. — For continuing coverage of Merrimack College Athletics, visit MerrimackAthletics.com and follow the Warriors on Twitter and on Facebook.
