Seminole scored first but both teams came out in the first 30 seconds of the game with a score. Seminole controlled the ball well in the first quarter with Brantley giving them the ball through several unforced turnovers.  Seminole took advantage of Brantley’s miscues and Aiden Collins consistently got the offense off to a great start winning more than his share of face-offs and contesting everything. The second quarter was much of the same as Seminole steadily took charge with precision shots from Seminoles attack that could not be stopped and strong defense. Seminole’s attack spread the wealth as most of their middies and attackmen scored. Their defense held strong and stymied Brantley’s normally robust attack.

Going into the half with a 8-5 lead the Seminole players and fans began to believe a major upset was in the making. The third quarter started with Brantley man down which Seminole took advantage of and scored early on. Seminole stayed the course of strong play and lead at one point 9 -5 over Brantley in the third quarter. Brantley rallied and brought the score back to a two-point spread at the end of the third with Seminole still in the lead. In the fourth quarter Brantley’s rally continued by holding Seminole to only one goal in the fourth quarter. Brantley picked up three goals in the fourth to bring it to 11 -10 with seconds left on the clock after their last goal. Brantley attacked but Seminole continued to

hold strong with the clock running out. Final score Seminole 11 Brantley 10. Seminole’s offense led by Ryan Ormerod (1 goals , 2 assist ) offered a balanced attack all night with seven players contributing :  Alex Proly ( 2 goals , 1 assist ), Bennett Osterink ( 2 goals), Heath Rivers ( 2 goals ) , Tyler Justin ( 2 goals) , Austin Graham ( 1 goal) , Payton Rivers ( 1 goal). The defense led by D1 commit Josh Williamson (Mercer), Kolby Martinelli and Gage Krull frustrated the Patriots offense all night and Dugan Sanders had an outstanding night in goal recording 13 saves.

The Patriot’s Jared Bernhardt had 3 goals and 2 assists with Tim Gehlbach next at 3 goals. T his is an exceptional win for the Seminoles as Brantley has normally dominated this game for many years and was undefeated until they met the Seminoles.   Seminole will have a chance to prove themselves again with upcoming games against the Episcopal School of Jacksonville and then Lake Highland Prep on 3/31.
