There will be some great women’s and girls’ lacrosse played this weekned at the Apopka Northwest Recreation Complex near Orlando.

From Wishbone Championship Website -The South’s most established and well known tournament is entering its SEVENTH exciting year! The Stickhead Florida Wishbone Fall Championships has played host to more than 180 teams in its illustrious history, and this year 60 teams will compete for the famous Wishbone Championships. Teams from the west coast, Texas, and the South are competing this year making this a complete college recruiting event for all levels (D1, D2, D3)! Fall lacrosse is WISHBONE TIME! Distinct Ability Levels accommodate every team from elite club to beginning middle school programs. As usual you can count on a full vendor’s row, an awesome DJ, well manicured playing fields and a great atmosphere for lacrosse. This is the tournament atmosphere you have come to expect from the Wishbone! This year the WISHBONE will be the first tournament to announce an experimental SHOT CLOCK on one of the tournament game fields. This innovative new feature will be put to the test during games throughout the tournament and data will be collected as to its effect on the game. The SHOT CLOCK will reset with every possession and stop and start on the official’s whistle. 90 Second intervals will be utilized. Teams competing with the clock include NCAA Division II programs Rollins, Florida Southern, and St. Leo. As with women’s basketball, after a credited shot, the clock is reset upon possession by either team. Only a credited shot on goal may reset the clock. Some of the Florida HS aged clubs competing include the LaxManiax teams, Stickbenders, Lady Swashbucklers, Tampa Elite, and many more. The full schedule for the weekend is located here.
