SPARKS, MD. – The No.1 ranked University of Tampa Spartans men’s lacrosse finish the regular season undefeated as they win a close matchup against the No.15 ranked Seton Hill University

HOW IT HAPPENED:

FIRST QUARTER

Tampa put on one of the best offensive performances we have seen from the Spartans all season in the first quarter, with Harry Kilkowski putting the Spartans on the board in quick succession. Luke McAnaney and Hunter Turner would shortly after both put it past the keeper, with a seven second difference between the two goals. It would be much of the same as the Spartans would show no mercy, as they would dominate the quarter.

SECOND QUARTER

A man up opportunity would find Fitzpatrick finding the back of the net right from the start. Seton Hill however would find some success quickly before Owen Miller would give the momentum back in favor of the Spartans. Tampa would take the foot off the gas enough to let Seton Hill back into the game late before halftime. The Spartans would still have the advantage heading into the locker room.

THIRD QUARTER

Both teams would keep each other at a standstill going into the third, until a series of blocked shots would eventually be followed in by Kilkowski. Both teams would give the opposing defense trouble as the third would be lackluster in terms of goalscoring. Miller would find Fitzpatrick to end the scoring for the Spartans in the quarter.

FOURTH QUARTER

The Griffins would put Tampa on their heels for most of this final quarter, scoring three quick goals to let the Spartans know they’re still here. A careless error however would result in a man up opportunity for the Spartans, which they would capitalize on. Seton Hill would put the Spartans lead down to only one, as McAnaney would crush the Griffins hopes of a comeback with the penultimate goal to seal the deal.

• The Spartans win today has them finish the regular season undefeated 16-0
